Bing Wu Day Pillar

The sun at noon: everything at full strength, nowhere to cast a shadow. Entirely open, and with no idea how to hold back.

The river of stars — vast, distant, and indifferent to anyone watching it.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 丙午 shares Water of the Milky Way with 丁未, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Bǐng carries the image of the sun. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Wǔ is Fire, yang in polarity, and carries the Horse.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Dīng Fire (70%), Jǐ Earth (30%).
