Geng Zi Day Pillar

A blade quenched in cold water — hardened in an instant, and settled. Once this one decides, it does not revisit.

The plaster on a wall: a thin layer that nonetheless decides what is inside and what is out.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 庚子 shares Earth of the Wall with 辛丑, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Gēng carries the image of unrefined metal — an axe, an ore. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Zǐ is Water, yang in polarity, and carries the Rat.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Guǐ Water (100%).
