Water returning to water: the circle closed, everything clear. Sees through most things, and can stop bothering to push because of it.

The open sea — unmeasurable depth, and room for everything that reaches it.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 癸亥 shares Water of the Great Sea with 壬戌, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Guǐ carries the image of rain, dew, a spring underground. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Hài is Water, yin in polarity, and carries the Pig.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Rén Water (70%), Jiǎ Wood (30%).
