Ren Wu Day Pillar

Open sea under a high sun — two large forces, neither yielding. Enormous energy, and friction that comes with it.

Willow bends with the wind and straightens after it — yielding is how it survives.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 壬午 shares Willow Wood with 癸未, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Rén carries the image of a river, the open sea. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Wǔ is Fire, yang in polarity, and carries the Horse.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Dīng Fire (70%), Jǐ Earth (30%).
