Xin Si Day Pillar

A fine jewel put to the flame. What was made by patient work now meets something violent: it comes out brighter or it comes out ruined.

Soft, refined metal — clean and workable, not made for bearing weight.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 辛巳 shares Refined White Metal with 庚辰, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Xīn carries the image of worked metal — jade, a finished jewel. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Sì is Fire, yin in polarity, and carries the Snake.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Bǐng Fire (60%), Wù Earth (30%), Gēng Metal (10%).
