Wu Chen Day Pillar

A mountain standing on more mountain: solid, dependable and very nearly immovable — which is the strength and the cost in one.

Not one tree but a forest: slow to mature, and worth the wait.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 戊辰 shares Timber of the Great Forest with 己巳, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Wù carries the image of a mountain. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Chén is Earth, yang in polarity, and carries the Dragon.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Wù Earth (60%), Yǐ Wood (30%), Guǐ Water (10%).
