Xin Hai Day Pillar

A jewel rinsed clean — the surface dust gone and the material clearer for it. Better the plainer it gets.

Metal worked into a hairpin or bracelet: fine, deliberate, and made to be seen.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 辛亥 shares Metal of the Ornament with 庚戌, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Xīn carries the image of worked metal — jade, a finished jewel. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Hài is Water, yin in polarity, and carries the Pig.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Rén Water (70%), Jiǎ Wood (30%).
