Yi Wei Day Pillar

A vine spreading across a hillside — quiet, unhurried, and one day you look and it has taken the whole slope.

Gold mixed into sand — real, but it has to be panned out of the ordinary first.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 乙未 shares Gold in the Sand with 甲午, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Yǐ carries the image of a climbing vine. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Wèi is Earth, yin in polarity, and carries the Goat.
