Yi Si Day Pillar

A vine flowering in full sun — growth turned into display. Outward, expressive, and it spends itself at the same rate.

A lamp under a shade: not dazzling, and it lights the small circle where the work actually is.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 乙巳 shares Fire of the Shaded Lamp with 甲辰, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Yǐ carries the image of a climbing vine. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Sì is Fire, yin in polarity, and carries the Snake.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Bǐng Fire (60%), Wù Earth (30%), Gēng Metal (10%).
