In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 戊戌 shares Trees on Level Ground with 己亥, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Wù carries the image of a mountain. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Xū is Earth, yang in polarity, and carries the Dog.
