Jia Wu Day Pillar

A tree turning itself into fire. Gives everything to what it believes in, burns bright doing it, and the fuel is its own substance.

Gold mixed into sand — real, but it has to be panned out of the ordinary first.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 甲午 shares Gold in the Sand with 乙未, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Jiǎ carries the image of a tall standing tree. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Wǔ is Fire, yang in polarity, and carries the Horse.

Hidden stems: every branch conceals stems of its own, in descending weight — Dīng Fire (70%), Jǐ Earth (30%).
