Yi Hai Day Pillar

A vine growing at the water's edge, never short of moisture and climbing whatever is nearest. The softness is tactical, not weak.

A fire on a summit: it sees far and is seen from far, reaching past its actual size.

In the sixty-pillar cycle each image is shared by exactly two pillars. 乙亥 shares Fire on the Mountaintop with 甲戌, though the two differ in polarity, animal and hidden stems.

Yǐ carries the image of a climbing vine. That is this pillar's baseline; the branch it is paired with decides the rest.

Hài is Water, yin in polarity, and carries the Pig.
