Direct Officer (正官)
One of the Ten Gods in BaZi, the Chinese Four Pillars of Destiny
Constraint again, but reasonable. Direct Officer is the rule, the position, the responsibility — it gives you a place to stand and the sense of proportion that comes with it. Classically the most respectable of the ten: disciplined, reliable, well regarded.

- ✓Carries responsibility without dropping it
- ✓Good judgement about when to press and when to hold
Where it costs you
Too much, too little
Too much: Bound by the rules, over-concerned with how it looks, unable to cross a line.
Too little: Loose, no sense of boundaries, hard to keep inside any institution.
No god here is lucky or unlucky — only abundant or scarce. The same one can be support or burden depending on the balance of the whole chart.
How this differs from Seven Killings (七杀)
Direct Officer (正官) and Seven Killings (七杀) are both Authority — what controls you; the only difference is polarity — this one is what controls you, opposite polarity, the other what controls you, same polarity. Matching polarity repels and opposing polarity attracts, which is why this god acts more moderately and with more reason.
