Indirect Wealth (偏财)
One of the Ten Gods in BaZi, the Chinese Four Pillars of Destiny
The resources you can command, in their moving form. Indirect Wealth is not salary; it is the opportunity, the connection, the sum that arrives quickly. People with it are generous, read a room well, and keep money in motion.
Strengths
- ✓Spots the opening other people walk past
- ✓Generous, and well liked because of it
- ✓Not precious about money — willing to commit it
Where it costs you
Too much, too little
Too much: Speculation, too many things running at once, no edges around money.
Too little: The opportunity arrives and you either miss it or won't move.
No god here is lucky or unlucky — only abundant or scarce. The same one can be support or burden depending on the balance of the whole chart.
How this differs from Direct Wealth (正财)
Indirect Wealth (偏财) and Direct Wealth (正财) are both Wealth — what you control; the only difference is polarity — this one is what you control, same polarity, the other what you control, opposite polarity. Matching polarity repels and opposing polarity attracts, which is why this god acts more bluntly and with less give.
