Direct Wealth (正财)

One of the Ten Gods in BaZi, the Chinese Four Pillars of Destiny

Wealth — what you controlwhat you control, opposite polarityopposite polarity

Wealth again, but steady. Direct Wealth is what you put in coming back out — salary, rent, the client who stays. The character that goes with it is dependable, thrifty and good for its word, with no appetite for surprises.

Strengths

  • Keeps its promises
  • Plans, and actually saves
  • Stable relationships it does not swap out

Where it costs you

Direct Wealth is comfortable with the predictable. When conditions change and the situation calls for one real risk, that is precisely the move you are worst at.

Too much, too little

Too much: Counts too closely, won't invest, and misses the window that required nerve.

Too little: Nothing accumulates; income is erratic, or money is simply an abstraction.

No god here is lucky or unlucky — only abundant or scarce. The same one can be support or burden depending on the balance of the whole chart.

How this differs from Indirect Wealth (偏财)

Direct Wealth (正财) and Indirect Wealth (偏财) are both Wealth — what you control; the only difference is polarity — this one is what you control, opposite polarity, the other what you control, same polarity. Matching polarity repels and opposing polarity attracts, which is why this god acts more moderately and with more reason.
