Eating God (食神)
One of the Ten Gods in BaZi, the Chinese Four Pillars of Destiny
Your energy going outward, in its gentle form. Eating God works slowly, enjoys the working, and enjoys the result — craft, writing, cooking, raising things. It has no edge, so it makes few enemies; the classics call it the god of good fortune.

Where it costs you
Too much, too little
Too much: Content with things as they are; slack where you should push.
Too little: Produces plenty and can't say so, and gets overlooked for it.
No god here is lucky or unlucky — only abundant or scarce. The same one can be support or burden depending on the balance of the whole chart.
How this differs from Hurting Officer (伤官)
Eating God (食神) and Hurting Officer (伤官) are both Output — what you generate; the only difference is polarity — this one is what you generate, same polarity, the other what you generate, opposite polarity. Matching polarity repels and opposing polarity attracts, which is why this god acts more bluntly and with less give.
